TUTORIALS AND GUIDANCE IN RELATION TO DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONAL IDENTITY
Psycho-pedagogical guidance and tutorials are not extracurricular activities, but a full and integral part of the curriculum. However, these activities do include certain components which do not relate strictly to any single area but to all areas in general - for example, the organisation and dynamics of the class-group, negotiation of the various roles and conflicts in classroom situations, and human relationships inside and outside the classroom.
The function of the tutorial is basically to assist students to take charge of their life, their academic progress and their personal development.
The law governing the arrangement of the education system, L.O.G.S.E., poses a fresh reference in the field of education, in that it promotes an educational paradigm based on the development of personal identity, as opposed to the academicist paradigm based on the accumulation of knowledge by pupils.
Thus, the basic aim and objective of our Education Project may be expressed as follows:
- Basic objective: The transformation of conceptual objectives into the development of capacities.
- The Aim of Education: Comprehensive development of the person above all forms of discrimination.

The services are geared towards providing advice and guidance on those areas affecting improvement of classroom teaching - learning processes, and adaptation to student life in its various aspects (family, social matters etc.).
Psycho-pedagogical advice may be sought whenever it is deemed necessary to solve or prevent certain problems.
